Description ELECTRICAL PROJECT DESIGNER BASED NEAR BLACKPOOL CONTRACT ROLE ? PART TIME
We are seeking an Electrical Project Designer to provide part time design support to projects involving the engineering, procurement and construction of new facilities, the Rotherham site. This position will run for 23 weeks, April to October, and is on a part time basis - approx 30% over the whole period (will be in peaks and troughs).
Assigned to the Senior Project Engineer, you will be involved in ensuring electrical systems are designed, installed and commissioned to statutory and company standards, will develop electrical scopes of work for construction contractors, review electrical designs by design contractors and inspect electrical installations by contractors.
You will also be involved in the hands on commissioning of electrical installations (will be trained in electrical isolations) and will be required to provide advice and support to technicians commissioning electrical installations, as well as assisting with cost estimating and planning.
Specific project work assigned to this team includes debottlenecking project (powder feed plant, wash vessels, piping modifications), Site utilities rationalisation (new cooling tower, nitrogen supply modifications), Site amenities improvements, Lightning protection and post takeover work from previous major projects.
To succeed as Electrical Project Designer you should have an Electrical engineering qualification and knowledge of current electrical regulations as well as experience of designing and developing LV distribution, lighting, fire and security systems for process plant (including hazardous areas) and utilities and experience of electrical site construction and commissioning (including loop testing). You must also be computer literate (e.g. Microsoft Office).
Experience of process plant instrumentation would be desirable, as would experience of CAD and a background in an Electrical Technician role.
