PRODUCT MANAGER - PUMPS
NORTH HERTFORDSHIRE

This is a first class career opportunity for a Product Manager to take responsibility for the Industrial Impeller pumps business of this leading manufacturer of quality pumps covering a whole range of sectors including general industrial, marine and process sectors.
As Product Manager you will provide technical product support, application assistance, and product training to sales staff, will coordinate pricing and product rationalization activities, will champion products through the Value Based Product Development and Value Based Management process and will provide support and information required to design-in Flow Control Value Centre products.
In addition to directly managing the flexible impeller pump portfolio, you will also facilitate communication between operations, engineering, sales and customer service. As Product Manager you will be expected to maximise the revenue and standard margin for the product group, to manage portfolio, life cycle, and product road maps and propose cost improvements and coordinate costing recommendations with both Engineering and Operations. Arbitrate between make versus buy decisions.
You will also be involved in recommending, investigating and documenting new product opportunities and product improvements and modifications as well as conducting, coordinating, and managing product launches, including the development of all Marketing Communications materials. You will travel to customers, as appropriate and will participate in Marine and Industrial tradeshows.
To succeed as Product Manager you should be qualified to degree level either in an Engineering or Marketing discipline with work experience in the positive displacement and/or centrifugal pumps field. An MBA or equivalent is desirable. Your knowledge and experience must encompass engineering principles and technical marketing for positive displacement pump and/or centrifugal product lines as well as a number of years sales & marketing within this field. You should also have strong market segment and application knowledge in Marine, in particular engine cooling manufacturers, and Industrial markets.
In addition to extensive knowledge of positive displacement and/or centrifugal pumps, you should have knowledge of OEM business and market channels. Excellent communication skills are required as well as an ability to perform complex work requiring a high degree of original thinking and independent judgment. You must also have the ability to recognize new opportunities during visits with customers and a proven track record of new product initiatives that generate substantial revenue.
As Product Manager you should be highly computer literate particularly in Microsoft Office applications, with good working knowledge of internal design teams and their operation. You should also be able to demonstrate visionary aptitude with practical execution skills. | | |
